REVIEW:
While reading this book, I couldn't help but think of commercials that come on during daytime television. These are usually commercials for soap, detergent, juice, and other household products. Usually it features a average looking guy and a beautiful, model-looking wife. In our beauty-obsessed world, I used to wonder, what is that all about? Now, I know. If situation is anything like the characters in this book, it must be the hot, aggressive, undeniable sex. Well, it doesn't hurt that Andy also has a heart of gold and is a talented musician and can see Carla's stand-offish exterior. There is a clever story here somewhere. I did enjoy the changing points of view from chapter to chapter. It kept me engaged with the characters knowing their motivation and thoughts. My biggest critique is that there is not enough story to go along with the steamy sex. There was little depth in the narrative and issues were glossed over and resolved too quickly. Still, I think it is fair to say that there is a time and a place for a little indulgence and a book like this is a nice accompaniment.
IN A NUTSHELL: I guess sometimes you just need a book like this - likeable characters, a bit of drama, and holy guacamole sex.
