Wyatt Banks is
ready to give one woman the world. Unfortunately, his job as a cop tends to
interfere with other goals. When Wyatt is sent deep undercover to investigate a
sex slave ring, he doesn’t have time to do anything but focus on staying alive
in a dark and dangerous underworld.
Wyatt isn’t alone
though in his quest to save the women that are being sold into sexual slavery.
His partner, FBI
Agent Andrea Somerville, is immersed just as deeply as he is, and she’s the
bait to lure the sex slavers out into the open, as she poses as an erotic
dancer in an attempt to snare the enemy. But danger runs as high as the sparks
between them, and now Wyatt is caught between the job he loves and the woman he
wants.

“Oh my,” were the
first two words out of my mouth when I finished this book. Sawyer Bennett may have written the perfect
contemporary romance for me featuring an ultimate book boyfriend. I am absolutely floored at how much this book
impacted me.
I came to this book
in a reading funk. I had started three
books and wasn’t satisfied with any of them.
The cover picture of Wyatt beckoned me.
I usually save my Sawyer Bennett books for times when I can savor them,
but despite my crazy schedule, I decided to start this book. Utterly satisfied,
it settled my restlessness.
One of the things I
like best is that this is not a story about two broken people. Wyatt and Andrea are two relatively normal
people with crazy jobs that put them in a desperate and scary situation that
allowed them to fall in love. Yes, it is
about destiny.
Why I love Wyatt:
He is the perfect
blend of hard and soft. He has hard
edges and is also soft in the heart. He is confident, but not arrogant. There is also
something very attractive about a man who is skilled and competent in his
work. As an undercover officer, he
presents the perfect amount of sleaze. And yet, he
has, as Andrea claims, an easy charm that is magnetic.
Why is Andrea is perfect
for Wyatt and why I love her:
I love her
confidence. She makes no apologies for
how she was able to support herself through college and law school. She is courageous to come face to face with a
sex-trafficker and shut him down. She is
smart. She is a woman who knows her own
mind, is willing to risk the first move, and is also willing to
compromise. Like Wyatt, she is the perfect
blend of hard and soft.
There were moments
when my heart was pounding like crazy because their chemistry was so fierce. These are balanced with beautifully tender
sections. During the course of their growing relationship, the author gives
Wyatt such keen insights into Andrea. I’ve
come to expect these emotional “nuggets” from Sawyer Bennett. Her characters have the ability to speak to
me authentically.
IN A NUTSHELL:
I know I must have
said this before, but now I’m being DEFINITIVE.
With a Twist is my favorite Sawyer Bennett book and Wyatt is MINE.
