We're sisters...sisters who read romance books...paranormal, erotica, contemporary, action, suspense, young adult, M/M. The steamier the better, we say. Pretty sure one of our e-readers will overheat at some point - either from overuse or content. Here are our reviews and musings...

SUNNY: BOOK REVIEW "Cage" by Harper Sloan
SUMMARY
Greg Cage was born to protect. While growing up, he was his mother and sister’s shield against the world… until he failed. For the last decade, he has carried that guilt and need for vengeance around… until it was stripped from him. Now, with his best friend getting married and no longer needing his protection, he is even more lost, completely adrift, and desperate for some control. All he has ever known was how to protect: his family, his friends, and his country. Can he go against everything he has ever known, and give up that control?
Melissa Larson will never let anyone hold the reins in her life. She has been the rock in her family for more years than she can remember, and the fight to keep them together is her main priority right now. She has always been fiercely independent and proud. The last thing she will ever do is ask for someone else’s help. But when that choice is out of her control, forcing her to rely on others to save her and her family, and pick up the pieces that are left, will she be able to let someone else be her strength?
The second Greg locks eyes with Meli, he knows that she is someone he needs. Someone he craves. Meli knew the second she met Greg that he would be nothing but trouble and heartache. Her life takes an unexpected turn, and that bitch Fate is back to wreak more havoc on another member of the Corps family.
All hell breaks loose, leaving Greg no choice but to call in a favor. He hooks back up with his old friend Braxxon Breaker from the Breakneck MC. Together, they make sure that nothing threatens anyone Greg loves again.
REVIEW
I'm an emotional reader. I own that. Sometimes you pick up a book and it is just the right time for that book. I was craving something edgy and a little raw. I saw a review of this book and immediately picked it up. Ahh, this one was an over-the-top serving of alpha male goodness.
Cage is book 2 in the Corps Security series. Although I enjoyed book 1, Axel, I thought the main characters were a little whiny. Not the case here. Greg is the protective one, the ever present support for Izzy. Having witness his closest friends' long awaited reunion, Greg realizes he wants that too. Melissa is his perfect foil. Strong, stubborn, outspoken and protective (and not angsty), she can dole it out and that makes for a engaging relationship. The story moves along at a quick pace and the main conflict seems to be resolved fairly easily. (This should be the first sign that there is, of course, something more.) The action gets heavy and there is a lot that goes on behind the scenes. We are also introduced to a new, dark character, Braxxon Breaker, who I hope we will see more of in future books (wanna bet?).
IN A NUTSHELL
This is the kinda fun you want to be reading when you craving a little spice and have a chunk of time because you're not going to want to put it down. Buy it now and save it for the very last weekend you get to hang out at the pool. You will need an ice cold beverage because it won't be the weather that heats you up.
